How to save mask as Analyze?

  When I save a mask it defaults to *.nii. When I specify *.hdr, it saves a *.img.gz file. When I uncompress that, I get a *.img.cdxr or somehting similar.
  
  Is there a way to simply save it as *.hdr and *.img?
  
  I’m using 19.a on MacOS Mojave.
