I’m planning a home renovation and thinking about adding smart lighting, automated switches, and other smart home features. Is it best to install everything during the renovation, or can these upgrades be added later without too much extra work?

I’d run empty conduit to the ceiling and key switch locations during the renovation. That way you can pull new wires later without opening walls. What features are you most excited about? That’ll help decide what to rough in now versus add later.

I recommend running conduit during the renovation so you can pull more wires later without opening walls. For high-voltage or complex panel upgrades, I had a good experience with mrelectrician.sg for licensed work that meets Singapore’s safety standards.
